Getting Started

Getting a site onto EdgeComet takes four steps. Only the integration step touches your infrastructure, and it does not require changes to your application code.

  1. Create an account and add your website. Sign up at cloud.edgecomet.com, then add your website's domain in the dashboard. This creates the site's workspace: configuration, reports, and API access are all scoped to it.
  2. Route bot traffic through EdgeComet. A small change at your CDN or proxy sends crawler requests through EdgeComet while human visitors keep hitting your site directly. Cloudflare users get an automatic guided setup.
  3. Verify the integration. Watch the first bot requests arrive and confirm bots receive the rendered page.
  4. Connect Google Search Console. This unlocks the search-performance half of the platform and triggers automatic site configuration.

What happens next

Reports fill as bot traffic flows. Data collection starts when the site is set up - EdgeComet reports on the traffic it serves, so there is no historical backfill for the bot-side reports. Search Console data syncs daily once connected.

After the first data arrives, EdgeComet configures itself from the site's own data: it proposes a page-type segmentation of your URLs (product pages, listings, articles, and so on) and classifies crawl waste specific to your site. Every generated proposal shows its match counts and sample URLs from real executed queries, and you review segment proposals before they apply.
